Advocacy, Care Connection, Eligibility & Support for Survivors

Where your truth is honored.

A.C.C.E.S.S. is a confidential, peer-to-peer support program for veterans and their caregivers navigating VA claims,
benefits, and discharge-related processes.

We are not the VA.

We are not attorneys, VSO's, or medical providers.

We are veterans and experienced caregivers who understand these systems because we have personally lived and
navigated them.

A.C.C.E.S.S. exists to walk alongside you—so you don’t have to face complex, overwhelming systems alone.

What A.C.C.E.S.S. Does:

A.C.C.E.S.S. provides one-on-one, no-cost peer support to veterans and caregivers navigating VA claims,
benefits, and discharge-related processes.
Our specialty is supporting survivors with their MST personal statements—so they do not have to be
repeatedly re-traumatized throughout the claims process.

We understand that the VA often requires survivors to recount painful experiences multiple times, to multiple
people, in systems that are not trauma-informed. This repetition can reopen wounds, increase distress, and derail
claims entirely. A.C.C.E.S.S. exists to interrupt that cycle.

We help survivors:

  • Understand what the VA is asking for and why

  • Organize their experience into a clear, survivor-controlled personal statement

  • Identify timelines, patterns, and relevant details without forcing unnecessary disclosure

  • Prepare emotionally for submitting sensitive information

  • Reduce the need to repeatedly relive trauma during the claims process

We do not write your story for you.
We do not speak on your behalf.
Your words remain yours. Your truth remains yours.

We provide clarity, structure, and support—so your statement can stand on its own as much as possible.

This work is survivor-to-survivor.

We are veterans.

We are survivors.

We understand the weight of what is being asked of you.

You do not have to go through this alone.

Why We Focus on MST Personal Statements:

We specialize in supporting survivors with their MST personal statements, so they do not have to be
repeatedly retraumatized throughout the claims process.
For many survivors, the VA process requires telling the same painful story over and over—often to people who
do not understand trauma, military culture, or the weight of what is being disclosed. This repetition can reopen
wounds, increase distress, and discourage survivors from continuing at all.

A.C.C.E.S.S. exists to interrupt that cycle.

We help survivors organize their experience clearly and intentionally from the beginning, so their statement
can stand on its own as much as possible—reducing the need to relive details again and again.

Survivor-to-Survivor Support:

We are survivors ourselves.

That means:

We understand why details may feel fragmented or hard to access

We understand the fear of “saying it wrong”

We understand the emotional cost of being asked to prove harm

You are not explaining yourself to outsiders.

You are not navigating this alone.

We walk with you, so the process does not become another source of harm.

You should not have to choose between seeking benefits and protecting your mental health.

A.C.C.E.S.S. is here to walk beside you with care and understanding, offering steady,

survivor-to-survivor support so you don’t have to face this process alone.

A.C.C.E.S.S. also supports veterans who received a Less Than Honorable or Other Than

Honorable discharge, especially when trauma, Military Sexual Trauma, or unaddressed

mental health conditions were present at the time of separation.

Many veterans carry these discharges as a source of shame or silence, even when the circumstances were

shaped by harm, retaliation, or lack of support.

We help veterans understand their options, organize their experiences and records, and prepare personal statements that provide context—so they are not navigating discharge-related barriers alone or without understanding.
